NAS Bursary Application

Supported by Creative Scotland, the New Art School bursary scheme aims to further enrich the visual arts in Scotland by addressing the clearly identified lack of diversity in the sector and challenging the barriers that many artists face as a result of their socio-economic background, race, ethnicity or disability.

Ten fully-funded places are available on out Contemporary Painting and Contemporary Fine Art courses.

  • Tell us about yourself in your own words. We want to hear about you and your work; where you are and where you see see yourself going as well as any obstacles you feel hinder you from achieving your goals.
  • Tell us about your work. Give a brief verbal description of the way the work looks in terms of things like media, scale, any special qualities. Give us a concise summary of what your work is about and why. What has inspired your work? Address your ideas, methods and “whys”. Highlight any relevance to artistic debates and/or past works by other artists.
  • Show us up to ten images of recent work (made within the last two years).
